سُورَةُ المُرْسَلَات
Chapter 77 • 50 verses • The Emissaries
بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1
وَالْمُرْسَلَاتِ عُرْفًا
1. By the winds sent forth one after another,
2
فَالْعَاصِفَاتِ عَصْفًا
2. And those that blow with violence,
3
وَالنَّاشِرَاتِ نَشْرًا
3. And those that scatter clouds and rain;
4
فَالْفَارِقَاتِ فَرْقًا
4. And those that bring down the reminder,
5
فَالْمُلْقِيَاتِ ذِكْرًا
5. To separate right from wrong,
6
عُذْرًا أَوْ نُذْرًا
6. As a warning or a reminder;
7
إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَاقِعٌ
7. Surely what you are promised must come to pass.
8
فَإِذَا النُّجُومُ طُمِسَتْ
8. So when the stars are obliterated,
9
وَإِذَا السَّمَاءُ فُرِجَتْ ﴿٩﴾
9. And when the heaven is opened,
10
وَإِذَا الْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْ
10. And when the mountains are blown away,
11
وَإِذَا الرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتْ
11. And when the messengers’ time is set…
12
لِأَيِّ يَوْمٍ أُجِّلَتْ
12. For what Day are these signs appointed?
13
لِيَوْمِ الْفَصْلِ
13. For the Day of Separation.
14
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ
14. And what will make you realize what the Day of Separation is?
15
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
15. Woe on that Day to the deniers!
16
أَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ الْأَوَّلِينَ
16. Did We not destroy the former peoples?
17
ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ الْآخِرِينَ
17. Then We will follow them with the later ones.
18
كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِالْمُجْرِمِينَ
18. Thus do We deal with the criminals.
19
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
19. Woe on that Day to the deniers!
20
أَلَمْ نَخْلُقكُّم مِّن مَّاءٍ مَّهِينٍ
20. Did We not create you from a despised fluid?
21
فَجَعَلْنَاهُ فِي قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ
21. Then We placed it in a firm lodging [the womb],
22
إِلَىٰ قَدَرٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
22. For a known extent.
23
فَقَدَرْنَا فَنِعْمَ الْقَادِرُونَ
23. Then We determined [the development], and excellent [are We] to determine.
24
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
24. Woe on that Day to the deniers!
25
أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْأَرْضَ كِفَاتًا
25. Have We not made the earth a container
26
أَحْيَاءً وَأَمْوَاتًا
26. Of the living and the dead?
27
وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ شَامِخَاتٍ وَأَسْقَيْنَاكُم مَّاءً فُرَاتًا
27. And placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and given you to drink sweet water?
28
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
28. Woe on that Day to the deniers!
29
انطَلِقُوا إِلَىٰ مَا كُنتُم بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ ﴿٢٩﴾
29. [They will be told], “Proceed to that which you used to deny.
30
انطَلِقُوا إِلَىٰ ظِلٍّ ذِي ثَلَاثِ شُعَبٍ
30. Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns
31
لَّا ظَلِيلٍ وَلَا يُغْنِي مِنَ اللَّهَبِ
31. [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame.”
32
إِنَّهَا تَرْمِي بِشَرَرٍ كَالْقَصْرِ
32. Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as castles,
33
كَأَنَّهُ جِمَالَةٌ صُفْرٌ
33. As if they were yellowish [black] camels.
34
وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
34. Woe on that Day to the deniers!
35
هَٰذَا يَوْمُ لَا يَنطِقُونَ
35. This is a Day they will not speak,
36
وَلَا يُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَيَعْتَذِرُونَ
36. Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse.
37
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿٣٧﴾
37. Woe on that Day to the deniers!
38
هَٰذَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ ۖ جَمَعْنَاكُمْ وَالْأَوَّلِينَ
38. This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples.
39
فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمْ كَيْدٌ فَكِيدُونِ
39. So if you have a plan, then plan against Me.
40
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿٤٠﴾
40. Woe on that Day to the deniers!
41
إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي ظِلَالٍ وَعُيُونٍ
41. Indeed, the righteous will be amid shades and springs
42
وَفَوَاكِهَ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ
42. And fruits from whatever they desire,
43
كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئًا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
43. [They will be told], “Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do.”
44
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ
44. Indeed, thus do We reward the doers of good.
45
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿٤٥﴾
45. Woe on that Day to the deniers!
46
كُلُوا وَتَمَتَّعُوا قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُم مُّجْرِمُونَ
46. [O disbelievers], eat and enjoy yourselves a little; indeed, you are criminals.
47
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿٤٧﴾
47. Woe on that Day to the deniers!
48
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ارْكَعُوا لَا يَرْكَعُونَ
48. And when it is said to them, “Bow [in prayer],” they do not bow.
49
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿٤٩﴾
49. Woe on that Day to the deniers!
50
فَبِأَيِّ حَدِيثٍ بَعْدَهُ يُؤْمِنُونَ
50. Then in what statement after it (the Qur’an) will they believe?
